Welcome to Toronto Baptist Seminary. We are seeking by God's grace to offer solid theological education at both an undergraduate and graduate level for those desiring to serve Jesus Christ.

Our courses are rigorous and our deep desire is to equip men and women to serve the Lord of the harvest in the 21st century. We look forward to communicating with you and hearing how we may provide training for you as part of God's will for your life.

Areas of Expertise

The curriculum is divided into three major sections: Scripture & Interpretation, Theology & History, and Ministry & Spiritual Formation.

The Seminary owns and operates residences, and provides accommodation at reasonable rates for single and married students. Priority for accommodation is given to full-time students. Students are required to bring their own sheets, pillowcases and towels (overseas students excepted). Space in residence is limited so students are advised to bring a minimum of possessions. Living in residence is optional. A booklet entitled “Life on Campus” contains full details.

Incoming Students

Our student handbook is one of the most important documents to help you keep up-to-date on Toronto Baptist Seminary’s policies and procedures.

Activities

Toronto Baptist Seminary has enjoyed a long and prosperous relationship with numerous Churches, including Jarvis Street Baptist Church. This relationship has provided a wonderful environment for the training of pastors and Christian workers, and it reflects our commitment as a school to the principle of the centrality of the local Church. The Church provides opportunities for students to serve, welcomes students from around the world in warmth and love, supports us, and holds us accountable for our service.

Information Technology

Populi is Toronto Baptist Seminary’s online student information system. The library computers provide an internet link to UTCat, the University of Toronto library database. This gives access to a catalogue of over 7,000,000 books, most of which are shelved within walking distance of the Seminary.

Other

The Seminary Library contains a large number of reference books needed for class work, together with commentaries, devotional works and some books of general interest, including the beginnings of a French collection, plus a number of periodicals. Librarian assistants may be chosen from the student body and may be paid an honorarium for their services. Students also have access to many local University and Public Reference Libraries. Some courses will require the use of these libraries. All students on a degree programme are therefore required to join at least one of the TST (Toronto School of Theology) libraries.
